K-Shell ionization of molecules:



Molecules investigated so far are: CO, N2, C2H2, C2H4, C2H6.
In these studies the two ion fragments are detected in coincidence with the photoelectron from the K-shell or the Auger-electrons.

The electron wave emerging from the K-shell can be used to "ILLUMINATE the Molecule from within"


We have measured the angular distributions of 1s-photoelectrons excited by circularly and linearly polarized light from fixed-in-space CO and N2 molecules, in the vicinity of their shape resonances. (click here)

These experiments are performed by the COLTRIMS collaboration at ALS
